Smt. Sarojini Naidu (Feb 1879- 2 March1949) was an Indian political activist, feminist and a great poet. She was a proponent of civil rights, woman’s emancipation and anti- imperialistic ideas. She was an important person in India’s freedom struggle. She was also known as the Nightingale of India (Swar Kokila). As our India has given the slogan , Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, we are also inspired by this and the same ideology is expressed in naming our house as Sarojini House , after being inspired by Smt. Sarojini Naidu – the versatile lady. We are also in favour of women empowerment and gender equality – the basis of our House.
